PayPal + Product Sync

Learn how to hook up PayPal and ConversionFly

PayPal IPN HTTPS POSTs allow us to update our sales database in real time with all of your relevant customer data to integrate with the sales output from ConversionFly.

Using this method, you don’t have to worry about setting up product goal pages or even upsell or downsell declines… all of this is automatically tracked in the Instant Payment Notifications!

You will want to make certain that all of your product and pricing data from your PayPal order button matches EXACTLY the product and pricing information with ConversionFly to ensure proper sales tracking.

NOTE: If you were using our Legacy Product Management and switching over to webhooks, you’ll need to make sure you remove ALL products and goal pages before the webhook/HTTP Post option becomes available.

To set this up:

Click “Yes” for adding a new product or service, click “Yes” next to PayPal, and copy the IPN URL ConversionFly has generated. This URL is global for all campaigns.

Go to PayPal and click on Profile and Settings under the Profile tab.

Go to “My Selling Tools”.

Under “Instant Payment Notifications”, click “Update”.

Edit your IPN settings.

Paste the IPN URL you copied earlier in ConversionFly.
Then make sure “Receive IPN messages (Enabled)” is checked.

Click “Save” and that’s it!

This IPN only needs to be setup once per PayPal account for all of your campaigns tracked in ConversionFly.

You will want to make certain that all of your product and pricing data from your PayPal order button matches EXACTLY the product and pricing information with ConversionFly to ensure proper sales tracking. If you would like us to log ALL webhooks as sales, check out this article.

IMPORTANT: Please keep in mind that PIPE (|) character strings are not allowed in the Product Name field to properly work with our webhooks.

As soon as PayPal processes a transaction it will send us the IPN with all the necessary information we need to credit a sale!
